Runway surface work at UI Willard Airport - pavement profiler digs down 3 inches to remove the top layer of concrete to make way for the new concrete surface. A total of 6 inches is being removed in two passes. University Construction is the contractor supervised by Crawford, Murphy and Tilly engineering firm. The pavement profiler makes 2 passes in 1 hour. The machine follows the surveyed line to follow the exact depth needed to be removed.
